"Shoot for the moon and worst case you'll land in the stars."

The above statement has been staggeringly and awe-inspiringly true for me from day one of developing the concept of Gems for Gems. In truth, I had no idea how tenacious and impactful Gems would become. All I knew was that more and more people kept wanting to help and I couldn't let them, or this dream of mine, down when the path forward was being so supported.
I have continued to do my utmost every day since to do justice to the sacrifices and kindness of so many for Gems. I am utterly consumed by gratitude and focused on doing my absolute best to further the impact of our organization.

I am truly honoured and humbled daily to be leading this incredible group of people and to have my dreams championed by the collective force of the Board of Directors, the Ambassador Team, and the ever-growing community around Gems for Gems.

Thank you all and I can not wait to see what we can accomplish next!"

It’s hard to believe I was in the room the evening Gems For Gems was founded. Go figure… a bunch of women at a dinner party, chatting about the jewelry we have in a box in a drawer and how we can 'be the change.’ I have been following the success of Gems ever since. It’s unimaginable how Gems for Gems has gone from a casual conversation to where it is today! What an achievement.

I’ve been fortunate to work with Rogers Media Group for over 15 years and have many contacts and relationships – a perfect fit to share the vision of Gems for Gems. I am honoured to be a champion & educate the public on Gems For Gems.

I’m involved with a number of local charities: 100 Women Who Care, Dreams Take Flight, Calgary Food Bank, Rainbow Society, Canadian Women’s Foundation & more.

I love the City of Calgary & I am a BIG believer in contributing to the community.

I believe in everything Gems for Gems stands for. It’s about building other women up & ending the cycle of domestic abuse. Whether it’s the scholarship program, THRIVE, the jewelry drive, or Gems ambassador program, I’m passionate about supporting your movement.  When women support each other, incredible things happen.

I am honoured to sit on the Gems For Gems Board, as we work together to “Empower Women To Empower Themselves.“

"Gems for Gems holds a special place in my heart. I had watched and supported Gems for Gems from the sidelines for a couple of years and seeing the ripples of change and awareness roll through the world around them; young and old, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.  I knew I wanted to be a part of the bigger picture and help in our community, in any way that I could. I finally had the courage to join this amazing team almost a year ago. I had absolutely no idea how much it would teach and change me through empowering me to become a better version of myself! What I love about Gems for Gems is that the initiatives Gems offers are innovative in the sense of providing a solution of how to move forward from tough experiences in our communities while supporting the growth to “empower women to empower themselves”. It’s truly life-changing for all involved. Gems for Gems is bold in that it chooses initiatives that aren’t run of the mill,  they may stir up some beliefs but the end goal is to always make a difference; no matter what they are up against because they truly believe in them! I cannot wait to see and be a part of all that is coming for Gems for Gems while we continue to “be the change” as we gain momentum and grow!" -Kendra Lawson

for Gems is an organization that I am both inspired and honored to be a part of. Although I have lots of people in my life to support me, that is not the case for
many others and Gems for Gems is an amazing charity to help those who might not be as fortunate. I look forward to empowering women and helping to build up
their confidence as they find their own voice.”

“My name is Tori Hibbard and I am a grade 10 student in Calgary, Alberta. I believe that you are never too young to make a difference and look forward to doing so
with Gems for Gems. I am fortunate to live in a healthy and positive environment and I am looking forward to helping people who may not be so lucky. I feel it is
important to start teaching about positive relationships at a young age in order to help people identify negative warning signs in their interactions. On the other side
of that, I want to help young people develop relationship skills that create a healthy environment for them and I look forward to doing so with Gems for Gems.”
