I hope that what I have learned and gone through could be a road map for someone else to find their way out of a situation that they may need help with. I have waited a long time to stand in my bathroom mirror and look at myself and say to myself "you will no longer hold me down!" I am now in a place where I want to give back and be there for these survivors when they need it the most.

As a survivor of domestic violence with two young children that experienced the horror, I have learned how to be not only there for myself but there for my kids. I went through a dark time and would have given anything to have somewhere to turn that I could see someone stand up and say: “no, this will be ok; here is your manual on how to get through this.”
